Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot Friends,

A strange and wonderful thing has been happening lately. Carrot runs up to me every time I enter his solarium, even when I’m going to express his bladder! He would always run over to me when it wasn’t his usual bladder express time, but conversely would always run away when he knew I was planning to do the dreaded task. But for the past few days he has run right over, even at “that time,” rolled over at my feet, and asked for pets in his adorable Carrot way. We have increased the number of times we express Carrot’s bladder to thrice daily; it keeps him a little more comfortable, and if his bladder is smaller it’s easier to express.

Carrot has two new friends who are hanging out in his solarium now, Oliver and Twist. These two boys came in together, and were very shy at first. Twist has become quite outgoing, while Oliver remains shy, but I know Carrot and friends will be nice to them, welcoming them to the cool gang that hangs out in the solarium.

Suite B is gearing up to have a party tonight, because as I write this Rebel is leaving for his new home. Make no mistake, the party is not because the cats are happy for Rebel to find his forever home (although the Tabby’s Place staff is over the moon about it). No, they are going to party because Rebel bullies them all, and they are happy for themselves that he is leaving. Rebel will be an only cat at his new place, so I think he will be very happy. Let the party begin!

We had a new paraplegic, Anka, arrive at Tabby’s Place, who also needs his bladder expressed. It’s so funny (and not a little surreal) to hear the staff rate the difficulty of each bladder we have to express, and we have eight cats we express three times a day. At the easy end we have Rose and Pepita. Carrot still maintains his title of hardest to express, with newbie Anka falling somewhere in the middle. We surely do have some unusual topics of conversation around here!

There’s one constant with Carrot — he will ALWAYS make you smile. No matter what’s happening, however bad your day is, just take a stroll to solarium B, sit down, and let the fun begin! Carrot is always there to greet you. Carrot always rolls over at your feet. Carrot always makes everything better with his sweet and easygoing ways. Pick him up, hug him, hold him like a baby, whatever you like. Carrot is always so happy to be loved.

That’s all the Carrot news for now. Thank you all for your continued support of Carrot. Because of you Carrot has a wonderful place to call home. He has all the love he could possibly ever need, and he gives it all back in abundance.
