Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot friends,

It’s been another wonderful month of sun, fun, friends and love for our Carrot. He is out in the solarium all the time now, and it’s been the perfect weather for it. It’s always the same five cats out there: Carrot, Spumoni, Steven, Faye and Sam.

This morning, however, newcomer Swiffer ventured outside. Swiffer is a very shy boy, so he immediately hid under one of the raised beds. I bet you can guess who was the first cat to go over to him and stick his head under the bed to say hi — who else but our Carrot? I’m sure Carrot was telling him, “it’s OK to come out and play; you don’t have to be scared.”

The other evening, I went out to Carrot’s solarium, and he looked so content. He was in one of the raised beds right at the edge of the solarium, the sun was pouring in, and he was laying beside his BFF, Spumoni. They were just basking there together, enjoying such a nice evening. Carrot had his leg resting on Spumoni’s back, with his head back. He looked so peaceful. Every so often, Carrot and Spumoni would start to wrestle, then they would both just sink back into their bed and soak in the sun together. It always makes me happy to see such good friendships at Tabby’s Place.

Last week, I went into the solarium and saw something that made me laugh. Carrot was hovering over one of the water bowls, staring into it, and occasionally putting his paw in the water. I wondered what he was doing, so I went to check it out. There was a toy carrot in the water bowl, and our Carrot seemed quite concerned. For a while he tried to fish it out with his paw, but when that didn’t work, he just sat there staring at it. Maybe he was concerned a carrot was drowning. It was cute to see Carrot trying to save a carrot from certain death.

Our sweet boy is back on medication for diarrhea. He often has this problem, but he doesn’t seem to mind the medication. Let’s hope it clears up soon and Carrot is back to normal.

That’s all the Carrot news for now. As always, thank you all for supporting Carrot. I can honestly say Carrot is happy and content with his life at Tabby’s Place. Without your help we could not offer a safe place for Carrot and all his friends to call home.
