Update for Carrot

Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot sponsors,

Carrot has had a very busy month since our last update, the biggest news being his move to a different suite. Carrot is now a Suite C resident, and he has already settled in to his new home very well. Suite C is our diet room. Over the last few months, Carrot stopped looking like a carrot and started looking more like a pumpkin — so we decided he needed a diet before can’t fit through the solarium tunnels anymore.

The sad news is he is no longer with good friend Valencia, who is still in Suite B, but we had to think of Carrot’s health. Obviously, being very overweight is not good for him. Carrot and Valencia seem fine without each other. Carrot, as we all know, makes friends everywhere he goes, and Valencia has been hanging out with Goldeen. Goldeen’s best friend Oliver was just adopted, so I think Valencia and Goldeen have been a comfort to each other.

Meanwhile, in Suite C, our Carrot is fitting right in, making friends, playing, napping, and being his usual carrot-self. The one thing that made Carrot a little unhappy was when we closed the solarium tubes for a few days. The temperatures were dipping dangerously low, so we had to close off access to the solariums for two reasons: to conserve all heat inside and not let any go out through the tubes, and to protect our solarium-obsessed kitties like Carrot and Steven, who want to be outside no matter what! Carrot sulked for a few days, which we deemed better than frostbite.

Carrot had a wonderful holiday, and got lots of new toys and treats. Some of Carrot’s human friends even brought him his own stocking filled with goodies. He did agree to share with his friends, especially the treats (now he is watching his weight).

I must say Carrot doesn’t seem the least bit fazed that he is on a diet, and doesn’t even seem to notice there is no food down during the day. He naps, he plays, he keeps himself busy all day and doesn’t even look for food. Although it’s not like we are starving our residents in Suite C; they get a wet food breakfast, and a wet food dinner, and dry food for everyone overnight. We’re hopeful everyone in Suite C can all drop a pound or two and be much healthier.

That’s all the Carrot news for now. Thank you all for your continued support of Carrot, and thank you for loving him. With luck and diligence, we hope that soon there will be a little less of him to love.
