Update for Carrot

Happy New Year, Carrot Fans!

I hope each one of you fabulous humans had a wonderful holiday season! As long as I have been a volunteer at Tabby’s Place (it has been a long time!), I always make sure to visit the kitties right before Christmas. This year was no exception. I glanced into the Suite C solarium, where our boy Carrot can always be found, but he wasn’t in there.

A bit surprised, I went into the actual suite and called his name. Sure enough, he popped out of a cubicle and came running over! Have I mentioned how much I love this boy? He had some competition from Josie, Lost, Flower, and Zena, who also wanted attention. Of course, I stayed to ensure each kitty had their fill of love and pets. Unfortunately, not long after this, we lost Josie to renal failure. The rest of the kitties have taken it in stride and Carrot is doing well.

This month, we do have a medical update for Carrot. He developed a significant upper respiratory infection in December and has been on antibiotics for several weeks. He had several notes of bloody discharge from his nose. The veterinary team ran bloodwork on Carrot and the results were all normal. He is going to be sedated for nasal and chest X-rays since he is having trouble getting over the infection and irritation. I’m not sure when exactly this will be, but I will keep everyone updated. Keep our sweet boy in your thoughts!
