Update for Carrot

Happy November, Carrot Fans!

Our boy has had a stellar month! Not only has he been in good health and good spirits, but there has been a major change to his suite! Sketch has been adopted and has left the building! I’m pretty sure I saw Carrot and Alex dancing out in the solarium.

We are super happy for Sketch that she found her forever home, and I know the boys are grateful for some peace.

Carrot & his buddy, Alex

This month I am thankful that I have been able to spend more time with him and the other Tabby’s Place kitties lately. Carrot is always such a love on our visits, and he has always been one of my favorites. As soon as I sit down, he hops right in my lap! Typically, Alex will watch him hop up, and then go to investigate my feet. If I wear flip-flops, he actually pulls them off to rub his face all over them. He’s a very strange boy, but he’s adorable.

I visited Carrot earlier this week and was surprised to find him by himself in the solarium. Alex is usually out there with him. I started to become concerned about why Alex was not out with Carrot, so I went into the suite. Well, there were two other volunteers in there and they had a bag of treats. No wonder the big guy was indoors!

Carrot has also enjoyed the visits from the children in the Paws to Read program. He’s a great listener, and he certainly does not judge them on their reading skills. Some children find it much easier to read to a cat than to another human. It can be less stressful for them since there is no pressure. Carrot cuddles up and enjoys being the center of attention while the children read to him. I wonder if he has a favorite book!

If you are local, please join us on Sunday, November 19th  for Thanksgiving With The Cats.  The event will run from Noon to 4 pm. There will be tours, and refreshments, and you can even help feed the cats a special Thanksgiving meal.  This is a fun event for us humans, and the cats love all the extra attention!
