Update for Carrot

Greetings, Carrot Fans!

Carrot has been in great spirits and health this month! He has had a lot of excitement as well.

Tabby’s Place hosted the Grand Opening of our Quinn’s Corner expansion this past weekend. The weather was not so great, but we had an amazing turn out! The event brought almost 500 visitors to Tabby’s Place, and a number of donations. We had tents set up outside with vendors, and catnip toys made by our amazing volunteers.

Carrot was a bit skeptical of the noise and all the humans parading around, not that I blame him!

We had self-guided tours of the sanctuary, but to keep the cats peaceful, we only allowed staff and volunteers into the suites. Another volunteer and I went to keep Carrot company for a bit, and to reassure him. He kept bouncing between us and climbing from lap to lap. I have no doubt he appreciated the special attention!

While we were visiting with him, a flock of birds flew over the skylight and grabbed everyone’s attention. Alex scaled the cat shelving in no time to get as high as possible to try to catch those birds. Sorry, Alex, but that’s not going to happen!

A few days before the Grand Opening, Carrot got to meet another group of interesting people. My employer hosts something called Impact Day. This is a day for employees to volunteer at charities in their community. Tabby’s Place was one of 20 charities chosen across the Tri-State area.

I brought a group of 15 people, and we helped out with the daily chores, stroller-walked some cats, and helped socialize. Carrot was, by far, one of the favorites of the day! He didn’t get to go for a stroller walk, because everyone wanted to see him and take turns visiting him. Our boy loved every minute of it!

Tabby’s Place is hosting a Meowloween adoption special for the month of October. The adoption fee has been reduced from $135 to just $13. If you’ve been thinking about adopting your favorite kitty, now is the time.

As always, thank you so much for sponsoring our wonderful, cheerful boy!
