Update for Buddy

Greetings to Buddy’s sponsors.

I’ve decided that having the skeletal system of a mouse would be very valuable in getting close to Buddy — and not because Buddy likes mice so much. It is simply hard to wiggle into the tiny cubby spaces he favors.

Many of my visits begin with long, lovely views of Buddy’s beautiful white belly, as he hangs in the tube between the suite and the solarium. As you know, Buddy can often be found on top of the crates in the suite. Climbing a ladder or standing on a chair adds enough height to reach Buddy, who loves to wedge himself against the walls. Once you’ve managed to collapse your own skeletal system, Buddy is very receptive to loving pets.

He is not suffering separation anxiety from his natural sister, Juju (who we hear is shy but adapting well to her wonderful new home with Edward). Juju’s adoption doesn’t seem to have ruffled Buddy in the least, and our sweet boy remains very attached to his best furr-buddy, Newman.

In addition to the physical challenges of getting close to Buddy, because of Buddy’s preference for hard to reach corners, Jean Valjean is exercising his lap cat rights. JV is demanding more attention during people visits, occasionally stealing Buddy’s treats, too. But, all is not lost; there are more and more reports of Buddy seeking out attention from multiple people, head-bumping hands that have so patiently awaited the opportunity to pet him.

Patience is well rewarded as far our sweetheart is concerned. As always, on behalf of our gorgeous green-eyed man, thank you for your generosity and loving wishes.
