Update for Buddy

Dearest friends,

Since we don’t know the exact dates on which they were born, Tabby’s Place celebrates all of our cats’ birthdays on January 1st. We believe our darling Buddy turns four this year.

Buddy seems to be enthused by the arrival of his newest roommate. Although round-faced tuxedo Mitt is a bit bashful, we believe he is the kind of cat Buddy will grow to cherish and nurture.

Buddy’s having a happy month, and there’s been increased talk of his “pettability” by multiple people. Our Executive Director recently witnessed a volunteer petting a very happy Buddy, to which he commented, “wonder of wonders.”

Buddy is a delight to watch as he makes his rounds, checking in with his band of merry men, er, cats. He reverts to Newman at regular intervals, as his “true north.” All roads lead to and from this faithful North Star, as you can see above. But, Buddy’s never met a cat he didn’t like, and he’s equally delighted keeping company with Wolfie, Pyewacket, and any feline who will snuggle with him.

There is one minor note of medical concern for our boy this month. To our dismay, Buddy’s been noted “inappropriately eliminating” — that is, peeing outside the litter box — on multiple occasions. Our vet team is getting a urine sample from Buddy to ensure that there isn’t anything medical causing this (such as a urinary tract infection). Buddy doesn’t do this troubling behavior regularly, and he certainly doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort, but it’s something we’d like to stop sooner than later.

Otherwise, Buddy thrives in good health and peaceful spirits. Thank you for making this possible for him, dear sponsors. Have a great month!
