Our emerald-eyed man is thriving as the cat’s cat of the FIV Suite. Wolfie continues in his role as head bodyguard for Buddy, who hovers behind his hulking friend.
We’d hoped that, as Buddy’s roommate Lester transitioned back to normal food, we’d again be able to “free-feed” the FIV+ suite. But a certain newcomer put an end to that plan. Buddy and his BFFs are about to be joined by TeePee and Sonny, two gentle older orange gentlemen. Teepee requires the same prescription diet that Lester needed, so Suite FIV will remain on mealtime-only feedings.
When Buddy ventures out from behind the protection of his security detail, he only has eyes for Newman. Buddy’s very best friend went through some dental difficulties this month, but he’s overall in very good health, which is good news for us Buddy lovers.
The Buddy-Newman dance is a delight to witness and varies very little. Buddy approaches with caution, being by nature a little tentative. The moment he is within Newman’s orbit, kitty glee abounds. There are rubs, sniffs, head butts and merriment. Watching these two beautiful cats enjoy each other’s company is a privilege and an experience of pure joy.
