Update for Bialy

Greetings, Bialy supporters!

One of Bialy’s favorite activities is eating when he’s not busy napping, socializing with visitors, or playing with Tashi. As a result, our little boy Bialy is definitely not such a little boy anymore. Aside from his rather large belly, he’s just about all young cat now (rather than kitten).

He’s still quite the silly one, though. One of the best Bialy moments is (no surprise) a Tashi moment as well – if both of these boys are awake, they’re making trouble together. They have a way of “floor wrestling”, where they lie on their sides and whack away at each other. If a person happens to come by, they both freeze momentarily, arms wrapped around each other, with a “who, us?” look on their faces. Then they go right back at it.

Recently, staff members were talking at lunch about another one of our cats, a male, who was unfortunately named “Tinkerbell” when he arrived, very wrong. But it got us wondering about what some of the other cats would look like dressed up as a fairy, and we couldn’t decide if Bialy would wear his tutu over or under his belly. Just picture that for a minute. Either way, it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch for our silly little cat.

As for socializing with humans, Bialy is also quite good at that. One of his favorite ways to do that is to sprawl on a pile of papers that someone is working on. Who could ignore that? Who knows, he may grow into a Joe, a very large black cat in one of the suites, who is an absolute marshmallow when it comes to attention.

He also likes toys but prefers the soft squishy ones or something like a stray pen which can be made into a toy. Or how about just piling on top of a pile of pens? Maybe he could get a twofer, attention and something to play with.

He was fascinated by a spidery toy on a wand but reluctant to actually go after it, unlike Webster, who went for it. Crinkly ones get his attention but seem to scare him.

Bialy’s month has been uneventful medically speaking. Thank you for supporting Bialy and here’s hoping that some special person can see past his medical needs and give him the loving home he deserves.
