Update for Bellis

Greetings to Bellis’ sponsors,

Visiting Bellis is very special to me, I can’t wait to get there and then I don’t want to leave. I sat petting Bellis recently, trying to decide exactly why I love this girl so much, and a quote came to mind.

George Orwell wrote in Animal Farm; All Animals are equal, but some are more equal than others .

To me, our sweet, kind Bellis is definitely more equal than others. Bellis plays, runs, loves and lives life with so much gusto. She soaks up every minute of everything offered, especially love and affection. I pet her and played with her, throwing her mice and homemade stuffed sock toys, playing, laughing and smiling. Bellis made it all so much fun, as you see in her picture.

And Bellis is not only happy; she’s also healthier than ever. Bellis sailed through her third spay surgery with no problems, and the doctors did find (and remove) some ovarian tissue. We’re all very optimistic that this should (a) be her final spay, and (b) clear up that “inappropriate elimination” business.

Now only two things stand in the way of Bellis’ total bliss. First there’s her roomie Midnight, pictured at left, a generally-gentle guy who just can’t seem to tolerate Bellis, and frequently makes angry sounds in her direction – not quite a meow, not quite a growl.

Then there’s the lobby kittens. Bellis has nothing against kittens per se; it’s just that she can’t move back out into the lobby (and the realm of her best buddy Tashi until the many kittens get adopted. It’s just too crowded out there for now. Here’s hoping for lots of munchkins finding forever homes – and Bellis’ happy reunion with Tashi.

Thank you dear supporters, for your generous support of our sweet girl. Without you, Bellis could not have such a bright future.
