When given the choice to pick a Halloween outfit, I dove into the task

Dear Friends,

Are you ready for Halloween? Whether you live in the U.S. or another part of the world, I hope you’ll join me and my friends by wearing a festive costume and enjoying some treats on the last day of the month.

The spooky Halloween season is so much fun because I LOVE wearing costumes. Dressing up allows me to try on different roles, like lumberjack, lion, pumpkin, bumble bee, and more. I’ve never told anyone this before, but I’ve always dreamed of becoming a famous movie and television star. Like Lassie, but the cat version.

I also like to belt out show tunes

The creatives at Tabby’s Place recently made a short, seasonal film about a Spooky Sea Adventure starring Luna as she sets sail on the S.S. Sour Puss. I played a very convincing Great Sea Shark. You can watch the video below. I’ll be accepting my Oscar as Best Supporting Actor in a handsome tuxedo.

The kind humans at Tabby’s Place are holding a Chip-or-Treat open house on October 24, where the community can bring their pets to get microchipped. I’m like a little kid who wants to wear all his favorite costumes at once. I’m still undecided on what I’m going to wear. Maybe I’ll do multiple wardrobe changes, so I’m not locked into one costume.

Unfortunately, I likely won’t be begging for treats this year. That’s because my appetite has been off. I’m not eating well, have lost weight, and have been coughing occasionally. X-rays show that I probably have asthma, so I now have a special air filter and get inhaler treatments as needed.

Costume changes can be exhausting!

My amazing Tabby’s Place friends are taking such great care of me–making sure I get the proper testing, medication, and diet for whatever ails me. Anti-nausea and steroid treatments have helped recently, and my appetite has improved a bit.

Luckily, we cats don’t worry too much about things. Worrying is for humans. While they work out what’s best for my health, I set my sights on what brings me joy: spending time with my human friends, going on stroller rides outside, trying on different outfits, and writing to you each month. ❤️

Speaking of joy, our cats reached their most successful Linda Fund Matching Challenge goal of all time! Thanks to amazing people like you, more cats in hopeless situations will get the care and love they so desperately need.

The love in your heart amazes and humbles me every day. Thank you for all your love and support. It means the world to me!

XOXO,
Anka
