Dear Friends,

I hope you’re enjoying these last days of summer. The slow transition from summer to fall can bring some pretty amazing days—lots of sunshine, with crisp, cool mornings and active birds and butterflies as they prepare for their trek south. And you know what that means, don’t you? More outdoor time for me!
I’ve been enjoying many outdoor stroller rides. My drivers are the best. They cushion my stroller with soft blankets, bring me little snacks for the ride, tell me about their lives (I’m a good listener), ask for my advice, and sing happy songs to me. This is my heaven, and these are the moments that bring me so much joy.
Indoors, I’m very much enjoying my new status as a feline fashion trendsetter. While there may be other Tabby’s Place felines with fashionable outfits, I believe I wear bandanas best. As my dearest friend, I’m sure you’d agree.
Last month I said I hoped someone would bring me a bandana with hearts on it to demonstrate my love and appreciation for you. My wish came true! I asked my correspondent to take a photo and share it with you.
I’ve been told I’m looking more svelte these days. That’s because I’ve lost some weight. That’s a good thing for the kind staff at Tabby’s Place, because it makes it easier to express my bladder and bowels. It turns out it’s kind of a good thing for me, too. I’m thrilled to report that my dietary restrictions have been eased a bit, so I now get a large serving of both wet and dry food every day! A physical exam and bloodwork showed that I’m in perfect health, so there are no worries about the weight loss.

After a recent brushing session with my nemesis friend, I collapsed in high dramatic fashion. I wanted her to feel sorry for me, but her sweet chuckle made it clear she wasn’t falling for it. So I got up, showed off my smooth, ample locks, and worked the room for more treats. I am too handsome to resist. 😊
This year I took a much larger role in planning our annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic. I was the Chief Organizer with only a little help from my human roommates and other Tabby’s Place staff. My priority was ensuring quality snacks for all. I love helping take care of our volunteers and showing them how much we love them for all they do for us.

And I love that I’m able to express to you how much you mean to me. I’m in constant awe and appreciation that you picked me as your special friend, and I’m grateful for all the ways you support me.
With all my heart (and all the hearts on my bandana!),
Anka
(With help from your correspondent, Mary)
