Update for Adam

Update for Adam

Hi, Friends!

Happy December.  The season of holidays is upon us.  Adam and I hope that you are well and looking forward to a delightful, although perhaps more quiet, holiday season this year.

Adam has had a difficult month.  His health is just not what we would like it to be and we are all a little concerned about our small Tabby man.  He had an ear infection early this month, and while it did improve for a bit, within a week he was again having an itchy ear.  He was put back on drops for a yeast infection.  Adam really dislikes ear drops (more than oral medications) and is rather adept at folding his ear flat and then shaking with great enthusiasm.  Fortunately, the yeast infection cleared up quickly and he is off all ear medications once again.

The staff continues to monitor his fluctuating weight.  Everyone is concerned about Adam as he has been exhibiting weird behavior lately (weird, even for Adam!).  The concern is that this is a progression of his neurological disease.  Luckily Adam is a Tabby’s Place cat and he will be monitored closely and kept happy and comfortable.  What is weird behavior for a weird cat?  Well in Adam’s case it has to do with his body positioning and posturing.  There are times when his head hangs and he seems to stare somewhat frozen in one spot. This is very concerning to me as Adam’s correspondent for the last five years or so.  I love this little guy and am so sad that I can’t go to Tabby’s Place to see him right now.  I have some loyal staff and volunteers who do go and spend time with him and send me stories and pictures.  I am very grateful for their help and happy knowing that he still is getting lots of love.  I know that he takes stroller walks frequently and loves his time out in the garden.  He has been getting lots of kisses and cuddles as well.

Here’s to hoping 2021 is a better year for Adam and for all of us.  Adam and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity.  Adam is able to get first-class medical care and lots of love because of your help.

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and we’ll see you in the new year.

Your correspondent,
Sue
