Update for Adam

Update for Adam

Hello and happy September to you!

I have the honor of writing Adam’s sponsor update this month as his “guest correspondent”.” Adam and I are old friends, so it was fun to have an excuse to hang out with him on my recent visit to Tabby’s Place.

He is a cool dude with a sweet, gentle personality and he just makes you smile. He has such a unique way of walking… almost a manly saunter, like a cowboy in the old west. He sidled up to me as soon as I entered the room to say hello. He knows that I am Mary’s sponsor correspondent, and he probably figured I was just there to visit HER.

However, I told him that I was also visiting HIM to see how he was doing so that I could report back to all of you. He immediately jockeyed with Mary for the best position to receive pets, and loved every minute of the attention.

Adam and I are happy to report that he has been in good health this month. He typically splits his time between the cozy spots inside Suite A and basking in the solarium sun. According to the staff, he can often be found curled up in a cubby or a fluffy bed on the ramp in the morning hours. Adam usually naps on his own and prefers his personal space, but sometimes his suitemates Angelo or Steven are curled up nearby.

A staff member recently shared that he “sleeps soundly and awakens loudly with a vocal complaint when he needs to be medicated or expressed. Adam is actually one of the easiest cats to medicate. When you approach and scruff him, he either yowls or hisses, and you just pop his medication right into his mouth. By the end of the complaint, it’s already over and he moves on.” He’s a big talker but a softie at heart.

And speaking of hissing, a volunteer shared a funny story about a recent stroller ride with Adam. She said she was positive that he knew which door lead back inside the building because when she passed by it, he hissed to tell her that he was ready to go back in! Isn’t it amazing how the kitties have learned to communicate with their human stroller operators? She also said that Adam loved going by the flowers and butterflies out in the field behind Tabby’s Place. However, when she brought him around front where cars turn into the parking lot, he was NOT happy about the road noise. We think that he gets a bit restless in the stroller, so shorter rides are best for him.

Another volunteer reported that Adam was all about the treats on a recent visit. He was in the upper bunk of the cubbies inside, snoozing soundly, but he came right out when he realized that his human friend had treats!

Adam and I are attaching lots of pictures here that have been taken of him this month. We hope that they make you smile!

As always, we thank you for all that you do for Adam and Tabby’s Place. Adam is forever grateful for your sponsorship, and he knows that you are the reason that he has such a wonderful life here with so many humans who love and care for him. He sends lots of furry hugs your way, and he hopes that you are safe and healthy wherever you are in the world. Adam and your correspondent Sue will update you again soon.
