Update for Adam

Update for Adam

Happy June, everyone!

Adam and I send you our best wishes for a wonderful start to summer.  Hopefully, this update finds you healthy and safe.

Since volunteers are still not going to Tabby’s Place due to the pandemic, I am sending you this update thanks to some information and stories that the staff has been so kind as to let me know throughout this past month.  I miss Adam and all of the kitties like crazy!  I can’t wait until I get to see them all again.

Adam has been in good health this month. While not long ago he was leaking stool all over the suite along with Mary, he is now leaning toward the other end of the spectrum once again. He is going to be having a more detailed visit with the vet soon for monitoring purposes. He is still on pain meds every few days and this does seem to be keeping him happier.

He is enjoying the lovely weather in the solarium more often these days.  He likes to hang out on the shelves that are out there for the cats to have some vertical space.  He is often found lying on the lowest shelf, looking out at the garden and watching the birds.

He was caught once this month taking a nap in the tube that connects the solarium to the suite.  I have never seen him do this before!  I don’t know if he was trying to get away from certain cats and some were in and some were out so he settled on in-between, or if he just got tired partway through the tube and fell asleep!  Whichever it was, it was really cute to see.  A lot of the cats do this but it was something new for Adam.

Adam also got his first stroller ride!  Many of the cats, especially cats that are certified therapy cats, often get to go out in the stroller.  It is part of the training to be a therapy cat.  During quarantine, the staff has been taking many of the cats for stroller rides on nice afternoons.  Adam got his turn the other day.  His little face looks so surprised and happy to be out and about!  Hopefully, there are more stroller rides for him in the future.

Adam and I wish you well and look forward to talking with you again next month.  Thank you for your generosity to Tabby’s Place.  Without it, weathering storms like the one we are currently experiencing would be next to impossible.  So Adam says thank you from the bottom of his heart.
