Update for Adam

Happy July, friends!

Adam and I hope that this month finds you enjoying your summer. We have had quite a spell of hot weather here in New Jersey and it has caused all of us, animals and humans, to slow down a bit and be a bit hazy and lazy.

In Adam medical news this month, he had a bout of diarrhea. Since this was an isolated incident, we haven’t changed any of his medications, but, as always, we will continue to monitor Adam closely. He has been as merry as ever, prancing with his weirdly wonderful, wonderfully weird “Adam walk” into the solarium nearly every time the sun is shining.

Adam adores the solarium and has been spending a lot of time out there as we launch into summer. He shares the space very well with his solarium buddies, Steven, Rose and Pepita. Whenever I take visitors out to the solarium, there is Adam or one of his friends, running to welcome the people and get a little rubdown in the process! There are some new cats that have moved into Suite A in the last few weeks. So far they seem to be staying inside and haven’t joined the solarium crew. Jimmy, Abe and Rorschach seem to be adjusting well to the oddness that can be Suite A. So far everyone is getting along and enjoying each other’s company.

Adam has been his usual self when it comes to greeting visitors to his suite. He loves to see people and is quick to come running to the door when it opens. It is usually a contest to see who reaches the door first, Boom or Adam. Whichever quirky little boy shows up, it is a joyful experience to enter the suite and start hanging out with the kitties.

Adam’s walk is definitely getting stranger and I have been keeping a bit of an eye on him as he saunters around the room. Some days he walks in just his unusual way, but some days there is an extra something going on that catches me by surprise. It is nothing alarming, just a new little quirk that Adam has added into his repertoire. He is such a funny little boy!

Adam had fun the day of our Kitten Shower. There were a lot of visitors that day who were there to take self-guided tours and to visit with about 15 little babies that we had up for adoption. Adam watched out the window of Suite A with rapt attention at all the comings and goings. I am sure he was wondering why there were so many people visiting Tabby’s Place that day. I suppose if he had been able to see the babies, he would have known. Who can resist 8-week old kittens?! Luckily for Adam, he was able to enjoy the show from the safety of his suite and solarium. His curious little face was such a pleasure to see from the hallway as he watched the world go by.

Adam and I thank you for all that you do for him and for the cats at Tabby’s Place. We are able to care for cats like Adam, with all of their quirks and little problems, because of generous people like you. Have a lovely July.
