Happy August, Adam lovers!
Adam and I hope you are enjoying your summer. We have endured quite a spell of humidity and rain here in New Jersey this summer and are looking forward to some cooler, drier weather.
Our little Adam has spent many of his days out in his solarium this month, soaking in the sun whenever possible. Most days have had some sun mixed in with the rain, so Adam has had sunbeams to enjoy. He doesn’t seem to mind the humidity as much as we humans do. Luckily, the weather hasn’t driven him from his favorite place in the world, his wonderful solarium!
Whenever you see him out in the solarium, Adam comes running to greet you. He really enjoyed meeting some visitors this past weekend. He received a lot of love from them, and he was rubbing all over their legs and prancing around, wanting more and more love. The people were happy to oblige him. They thought he was wonderful. Who wouldn’t? Our Adam is one of a kind and extra special to boot!
When Adam spends time inside, one thing becomes quite clear: no one naps more adorably than Adam. Our petite boy curls himself into the most darling acrobatic arcs, hugging his own face as though he can hardly stand his own cuteness. And, of course, he does this right next to the Suite A window, so everyone can adore him. There is a really sweet little bunk-bed-like shelf right by the window, and Adam enjoys curling up on that for his naps. He is often right out in view these days as he has become more relaxed in his suite and with his suitemates. There is a really nice crew of cats in Suite A right now, and it is a nice, peaceful place for Adam to nap.
Adam has enjoyed a good month health-wise, too, with no medical news to report. He did give me a bit of a scare a few weeks ago when I was visiting with him. He was walking really strangely (even more strangely than usual), and I was quite concerned. The only way to describe it was that his back end was walking bow-legged and with a swagger. It looked as if he had spent months on the back of a horse!
It gave him quite the cute cowboy look, but it was concerning, given his history of spinal cord issues. Luckily, it must have just been stiff muscles from sleeping in the same position for too long or something like that, because he was walking just fine a few hours later. He was fine as well this weekend when I saw him.
Honestly, we are all a little on edge right now with the kitties in Suite A, looking for health concerns. Adam’s roommate Rose gave us quite a scare this month, but she luckily seems to be heading out of the woods from a very serious health situation. She is still in our hospital and hasn’t rejoined Adam in his suite yet. I’m sure Adam is looking forward to having Rose back with him in the solarium. She is one of his favorites!
Adam would also like to let you know about the Linda Fund, which is a special annual fundraiser at Tabby’s Place, dedicated to raising money to help our cats with medical emergencies, special surgeries, and other life-saving measures. Every dollar donated to this special fund is matched by some generous benefactors and corporate sponsors. It is a wonderful program, and Adam knows that it is this special money that helps get kitties like Rose the help that they need.
Thank you, special friend, for loving our Adam. He is a really wonderful boy, and he appreciates all that you do for him and for Tabby’s Place. He wishes you a joyous end to your summer. Until next month, friends…
