Update for Adam

Happy May friends! Adam and I hope you are enjoying your spring. We are having lovely weather lately here in New Jersey. Hopefully your spring is just as lovely.

Adam has had an interesting month health wise. Although his skin sores improved enough that we could finally free him from the cone of shame, Adam has continued nibbling his front legs a bit. This hasn’t caused any serious damage, just some slight scabbing, so for now we’re just monitoring him closely. Poor Adam also faced a bout of conjunctivitis, which we treated with antibiotics. And it’s not an Adam medical update without some gastrointestinal intrigue; our boy had awful diarrhea throughout April, so we’ve decreased his GI motility medication. Luckily, none of this has stopped our Adam from being his usual frisky self.

Adam always enjoys time spent in his solarium, and the last few weeks have allowed our boy to be outside and feeling the breeze. He has discovered the joy of taking a nap in one of the igloos that we have in Suite A solarium. Sometimes I go looking for him and all I see is a small tabby ear sticking out of the igloo. That’s when I know I have found Adam, asleep and happy. When I open the door to the solarium, he immediately wakes up and pokes his head out of the igloo to see who has come to visit. He gets up with great joy and comes over to get some scritches.

Adam really enjoys showing off the solarium to special visitors. I have had the pleasure of giving tours lately to potential volunteers and some special VIPs. They have all been enchanted with Adam. He has been so polite and well mannered with the guests! This is wonderful for our whacky boy. He is usually so nutty. He seems to have matured finally, although I’m sure he will suprise me again with reverting back to his old ways from time to time. It is a gift to have him be such a love-bug and a snuggler all of a sudden. It’s a whole new Adam.

Adam is looking forward to a nice, long summmer in the solarium with his suitemates, Pepita, Rose, Steven and Paulie. They all seem to be solarium dwellers this year. Paulie is a newer cat to Suite A and he and Adam seem to get along quite well. Paulie is an adorable, big-headed buff and white kitty who has the most loving personality. Maybe he is the reason that Adam has become so lovey-dovey lately. He has been learning from the best!

Well, friends, Adam and I wish you the loveliest of Mays, we both thank you for your incredible generosity to Tabby’s Place and our little boy, and we hope that you are ready for a summer of wonderment and joy. We’ll be back again in June with another update. Until then, Adam sends you some snuggles.
