Ahh Adam lovers…it’s finally Spring!
Adam sends you his love and hopes you are enjoying these first few days of beautiful weather.
Adam is excited for the warmth so he can get back out in his solarium for some sun. It has been a long winter indoors for our Adam.
Adam has had many new roommates in the last few weeks who have been coming and going. Little Stetson was one of the interlopers who liked to steal the show from our boy. Luckily for Adam, Stetson was quickly adopted. Now Adam has two new roomies named Ditto and Dratini. They are sweet, shy kitties, and Adam has been leaving them alone, amazingly enough. He seems to have put Boom in charge of room-stalking and cat-avenging…for now.
Poor Adam had multiple bouts of severe constipation this month, for which he required enemas. We’ve increased his stool softener from once a day to twice a day, which should help considerably. We’ve also decreased Adam’s steroid dosage. We’ll be monitoring him closely to ensure this current cocktail is serving him well.
This may be the reason that Adam has been a bit slower to get in other kitties’ faces and hasn’t really seemed himself. He has been as sweet as ever these past few months, but he seems slower and a bit more sedate. I suppose severe constipation and a few enemas could do that!
Adam has been really enjoying our Paws to Read program. There is one little boy who comes to read every few weeks who loves Adam. He spends a good hour reading to Adam every time he comes. The boy also has great taste in books, so Adam is getting wonderful exposure to gobs of excellent literature! Watching Adam sit so still and listen to a story is really heartwarming. We all know about Adam’s history of behavior and wack-i-tude! The time he spends with his little friend is teaching many skills that I wasn’t sure Adam had in him. Thank goodness for the love of children in the Tabby’s Place cats’ lives. It is making a difference for so many of them.
Adam is looking forward to bird watching in the solarium over the coming weeks. He hopes that you have something wonderful to look forward to as well. He is so grateful for all that you do for him. You make it possible for him to have his solarium to enjoy. You make programs like Paws to Read possible. Adam loves you so much. He is sending you a hug across the miles and hopes that you will send him hugs back. He is really becoming a kitty who know what a hug means! Hallelujah!
