Our boy is having a great month, and he sends his greetings.
Things are a bit calmer in Suite A this month. We can’t underestimate the impact of Adam’s Prozac. But, we have a feeling this is secondary to the bigger change: Macaroon’s departure. As you may remember, Macaroon had moved into Suite A and was not giving into Adam’s particular form of intimidation. In Suite A, Macaroon did discover one thing to enjoy even more than one-upping Adam…food, glorious food! Once Mac hit the 23-pound mark, it became necessary to move her back to the Weight Management Suite.
It would be an understatement to observe that Adam has not missed Macaroon at all. He then turned his sights on Lorelai, but that was cut short when our beautiful girl was adopted. So now Adam needs to find a new companion who will either put him in his place, or be subservient to his every whim.
In medical news, Adam’s belly felt a bit bloated to several members of our staff. (In the colorful words of our Executive Director, Adam’s abdomen felt “like a turgid water balloon.”) But, since Adam is otherwise doing very well, we’re not overly concerned at this time.
In the “some things never change” department, Adam continues his pacing and wild cat behaviors. I always check in on him when I visit or volunteer, and always find him in the same mood. He is eager to greet me at the door, but then he starts pacing and ignores me. I have tried using toys with him, but he ignores them, too. The other cats enjoy the toys, but Adam seems busy with his own agenda. I am hoping to continue to use wand toys and other forms of stimulation to help Adam snap out of his pacing mode and become a more content kitty.
Should you be in the area, I’m sure Adam would love to have you attempt to play with him. I can’t promise that he’ll respond, but he will appreciate the effort!
Adam is so grateful for all that you do for him each and every day. He knows that he has a lovely life at Tabby’s Place because of wonderful sponsors like you. Have a terrific start to your springtime!
