Update for Adam

Happy New Year!

Adam sends you his best wishes for a wonderful 2016. Our little tabby whirlwind is up to his usual antics as the new year begins.

At Tabby’s Place, all of our cats have their birthdays in January. At age seven, Adam continues to confound us. Alas, the medication we’d hoped would help his gastrointestinal issues has not done the trick. Adam is still dripping stool, so we’ve discontinued that medication.

At this point, we’ve scheduled Adam for an endoscopy. We earnestly hope that the right diagnosis will lead to the right treatment — and, at last, relief for Adam’s angry bottom.

I often wonder if his rear-end issues are what drives Adam’s unusual personality traits. I’m sure I would be a bit feisty and nutty as well if my bottom was always dripping and hurting.

Adam can be so sweet. He can also be so…different. Every cat is unique, but Adam is more unique than most. He just doesn’t act much like a cat. He stalks and pounces like a cat, but it is often aimed at animals or people or even objects that aren’t prey.

He can be very sweet, too, and this is the Adam that I like to think of when I write to you about him. He is so cute and so loving when he wants to be. I hope that getting answers to his unfortunate colon will help him all around.

Adam was successful in driving one of his new suitemates out of Suite A. As you have heard many times, Adam is not always the best roomie. Newcomer Jesse practically begged the staff to remove him from the presence of Adam, and now he resides in Suite B. Poor guy. He is beautiful and sweet and apparently became Adam’s newest punching bag. He is very happy in his new room, and Adam is very happy to be king of Suite A again.

Hopefully next month I will have some more definitive news about Adam’s diagnosis. It would be lovely to be able to tell you that we have found some answers and are getting Adam some relief.

Thank you so much for all that you do for our little Tabby firecracker. He sends you his love.
