Olive's November Update

Update for Olive

Fabulous fall greetings, my wonderful friend and sponsor!

I sure am a Beauty Queen!

This is my favorite time of year: chock full of celebrations, one right after the next. It is a busy time of year, and I have lots to tell you about!!!

First and foremost, I have remained in good health and been my usual spirited self this month.

I’ve had just one minor issue. I have been back to picking at my chest fur again. So, those reprimanding conversations from the staff have resumed, during which I simply sing “lalalala” in my head and allow their side of the conversation to pass in one ear and right out the other.

I also overhead them saying I am due for a visit with our veterinary staff, with some blood work to confirm that I remain my best, most beautiful, and healthy self.  I’m not exactly sure I am fond of this idea, so I would prefer this discussion remain tabled for the time being.

Until then, I am sure not to miss a meal, or a nap.  I assure you I am well and enjoying living my best life here at Tabby’s Place.

I am thrilled to report that the lobby is back open to visitors!  Whoo hoo—I am doing my happy dance!  You may have heard that there was a little episode of ringworm, which was thankfully quickly caught and contained.

With my lobby mate Berry being one of the affected felines, it was necessary to restrict visitors to the lobby as a precaution.  I was more than a tad upset at not being able to perform my regular royal queenly duties for a little while.  I am so relieved all is right again in the lobby, and I am happily greeting and assisting all who stop in!

Needing some post-celebration beauty sleep!

There were so many special events in October.  The entire month of October was Black Cat Awareness Month, which, of course, I think should be expanded to include me!  And National Cat Day on October 29th —yup, we covered that one too!

Even more importantly, on the week of October 12th through 18th, we made darn sure to celebrate National Veterinary Technician Week, honoring the special Tabby’s Place vet techs Denise, Jess, and Drew for all they do for us, all year long.  We deeply appreciate these devoted ladies (and seriously, our entire staff!!).  From sniffles and sneezes to more serious concerns, their huge hearts overflow with care and love.  This is the Tabby’s Place way!

On October 23rd, we had the honor of being featured as one of Catster magazine’s Heroes of the Cat World! Click here for that full story.

Miss Olive, Tabby’s Place Beauty Queen 2025

Then came October 31st, and we held our annual Halloween celebration, with costumes galore, many tricks, and not nearly enough treats!

I have to tell you, I LOVED my fabulous costume this year.  It was neither creepy, scary, nor funny. In all honesty, it was something I deserve to wear all year long!  I, the beautiful Miss Olive, dressed up as the Tabby’s Place Beauty Queen of 2025.

With a little help from my correspondent, Elizabeth, I had a special sash to go with my tiara, and everyone made sure to adore me and marvel at my beauty.

A special thanks and shout-out to my beloved staff member and dear friend, Carolyn, for assisting me with my hair and makeup. Of course, my natural gorgeousness made it exceptionally easy for her, and she masterfully helped my beauty to light up the Lobby!

Olive is Thankful for her kind and wonderful sponsors!

Now that I have caught you up on all the fun from the last month, I would like to invite you to our Thanksgiving with the Cats open house on Saturday, November 22nd, from 12 to 4 p.m.  This is a great time to stop by and allow us to thank you for your loving support.

And, you will get to personally feed us turkey!  Yum!  So, if you are in the area, please do stop in and see us, treat us, and allow us to shower you with our love!

Oh, and do you remember that I mentioned last month that there was a rumor that I was the butt of a joke on Facebook?  Unfortunately, I did not have all the details at that point, but I do now!  I am grateful to the dear sponsor who shared the post (pictured below left) with me.

Apparently, everyone has seen this offensive photo of me, in which I am the centerpiece, with my natural physique resembling that of a turkey.  I never mind being the center of attention, but as a turkey?  Really?  I may be a lot of things, including beautiful, fun-loving, and feisty, but I am certainly no turkey! Anyone who thinks Queen Olive will tolerate such disrespect can just think again! This shall not continue to happen!

As I prepare for our upcoming celebrations, particularly Thanksgiving, I reflect on all the things I am thankful for, with you foremost on my list. I am always grateful for you, your generosity and devotion to me each and every month, all year long.

As you celebrate your Thanksgiving, please know that I am thinking of you and lovingly wishing you a wonderfully blessed day.  And I kinda secretly hope that from now on, whenever you see a turkey, you will think of me with a smile on your face and laughter in your heart!

Until next month…

Love and blessings,
Miss Olive, The Royal Beauty Queen
(With help from my special correspondent, Elizabeth)
