Dear Friend of Tux,

Tux and I hope that wherever you might be, you are feeling the warmth of the sun energizing your mind, body, and spirit! After a long and cold winter in Ringoes, New Jersey, and a week of winds that might have blown our distinguished gentleman cat away, the sunshine is a welcome friend to all the cats and humans here at Tabby’s Place.
For the residents that enjoy strolling in the Tabby’s Place gardens (think Anka, Boobalah, Dewie, etc.), the rising temperatures mean it is once again time to be escorted around the grounds in a private carriage. For residents with glass doors and skylights, the sunbeams serve as beacons for the identification of ideal napping squares. For suite residents with solarium access, the warmth has once more lured them out to breathe in the fresh spring air (Pisa, Polly, and Pepita all come to mind). Finally, for the Community Room residents like Tux, Patches, and Gulliver, it is time to pile into the window sills and bask in the warmth of the light.

And do not think that I am kidding when I say that they pile in, as I have the photos to prove it. On the earliest days of full sunshine, every bit of windowsill was filled with cats.
It is this sort of simple joy that keeps Tux happy day in and day out.
Tux has enjoyed a month of good health, and for that we are most grateful.
Tux has also been appreciative of our regular grooming sessions in recent weeks. I have noted previously that Tux gets some of his sticky medication stuck in his fur and that this needs to be combed out. On a recent visit with him, I spotted an unusual looking grooming tool that had never seemed particularly useful for brushing, but it was sitting near Tux, so I decided to see what it would do. Surprisingly, it did a good job at grabbing hold of the sticky clumps and getting them out without a ton of effort. Tux tolerated a much longer de-clumping session than he usually does. I certainly am not promoting this product as a fabulous grooming device, but it does seem to work for this very particular task.
Tux wants to remind you to stop and enjoy the simple joys in life. May each sunbeam warm your soul and remind you of Tux’s gratitude for your love!
