Update for June

June’s Journal

Entry #13

Happy June to all…and a happy June am I! This is my month, you know. I was named after it and also after Juno, Queen of the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses. In my opinion, I am a real queen—a beautiful black baby who was lucky enough to find her way to Tabby’s Place, this incredible sanctuary for kitties.

We recently had an ice cream social here and I had many visitors. I am getting so much better at meeting people and socializing with them. I used to be feral, you know, and was out running the streets when I was hit by that car and brought to Tabby’s Place, my home until I get adopted one day. And then there is Father’s Day. I would love to have a home with a mommy or daddy or both and be able to curl up with them on their special days.

Our annual Kitten Shower is coming up and I can’t wait to see all the kittens and meet the folks who will be coming to adopt them. Maybe someone will come and adopt me as well.

I have been doing my usual in the Community Room of keeping an eye out on all the residents and monitoring the staff meetings. These two tasks carry a lot of responsibility, but I am up to it. And there is a new baby, Lucas, who has caught my attention. I am kind of liking him and would enjoy playing one day. He was very shy and that is why he, as a kitten, is in the Community Room with all of us, to expose him to more people. I think it is working. He has black fur like me, too.

I used to be curled up with Melanie, but she got really sick and went to Rainbow Bridge a few months ago. I miss her and would love a new companion and playmate. Maybe Lucas is the one.

So not much is new on my medical front. I am very healthy for a paralyzed kitty and holding my own…no bladder infections or other issues. I get my usual mani and pedi and get weighed regularly, and I am still running from the staff when they come to express my bladder and bowels regularly. Yay for me and my healthy month.

And yay for my giving the staff a run for their money to catch me three times a day. With all this “training,” I should be able to run a marathon of some sort soon.

So that is it for this month. Please come to the Kitten Shower this weekend and meet all the new babies for adoption. And please come visit me in the Community Room and play with me for a little bit. I like the wands with the feathers on the end and I love the ear rubs and back massages. And for that exceptional someone out there, think about adopting a special needs kitty like me who wants to have her very own person or people to love me in my own home one day.

Thank you, as always, for providing for me so I can have this wonderful place to live and so many people who love me.

For now, hugs and kitty kisses,

Love,
June
