Update for June

June’s Journal #17

October 15th, 2018

Wow, what a fall it has been so far…It is more like summer all over again. But that is okay as every once in a while it gets that little chill in the air, letting us know at the Sanctuary that winter is coming. I am so happy and comfy here at Tabby’s Place in my very own cat trees and beds.

Scribe came to visit me last week and found me in the tree next to Pixie’s window. Pixie was lounging with another kitty, so I got Scribe all to myself this time. I was resting quietly when she came in and she moved her chair next to my tree. That made me happy as I knew I was getting a back rub. But, guess what, I also got my sides and ears rubbed gently as well. It felt so good. Then Scribe got the top of my head and my back again. Wow, I really felt like I was getting a spa treatment.

Scribe brought that book again, “365 Animal Stories and Rhymes” and she read me a lot of stories. First, I heard about the fox and the crow and how the fox stole a piece of cheese from the crow. Pixie lifted her head and listened as well. I think it was the sound of Scribe’s voice. Her ears fluttered and she got sleepy, but she still kept looking out of the window.

While Scribe was doing my backrub, she found 8 white chest hairs. You see, it is really a myth that black cats are ALL black. Somewhere on our little bods, there are some white hairs. And Scribe found mine.

While Scribe was reading to me, a visitor came to see our Sanctuary. He met me and he also met Pixie. In the meantime, I got lots of chin and under the chin rubs. I also learned why owls stare (another good story from the book) and then Scribe read me some nursery rhymes while she was doing those ear and chin rubs. The nursery rhymes were the absolute best.

After Scribe was finished reading to me, I decided to give myself a bath. We girls have to look pretty for any and all potential adopters. So I washed my tail and listened to more nursery rhymes. Then Pixie asked for some love and Scribe obliged. And since Andora was awake and in one of her Community Room beds, Scribe visited with her as well.

Healthy and happy at Tabby’s Place am I, but I would still love a home of my own one day. Please come to visit me at Tabby’s Place where you will find me doing any one of a number of things: securing the perimeter of the room, practicing kitty gymnastics during the staff meetings, sleeping in my many beds, sleeping in my cat tree, or just hanging out with my kitty friends. Maybe one day I can hang out in my own home with my own special person who will love me and care for me like the staff at Tabby’s Place does each and every day.

So for now, enjoy the fall and come to see me at the Sanctuary.

Love and kitty kisses,

June
