Happy December Adam fans!
Adam and I hope this update finds you enjoying the season and looking forward to the holidays. We have just had our first snow here in New Jersey so it finally feels like the winter is upon us.
Adam must sense that Christmas is coming. He has been working really hard on being nice and trying not to let Santa see his naughty side at the moment. He must have some special secret wish for Santa. Adam has been really mellow these past few weeks. I haven’t heard too many tales of Adam nipping or swatting at people nor have I witnessed this first hand. Adam has been a real lovebug!
There’s precious little medical news in Adamland this month. Although Adam and all his roomies have suffered the wrath of Cleo, Adam has generally had a happy, healthy month. He continues to enjoy his “Paws to Read” friends, and is reliably the first and most persistant greeter for our many holiday-season visitors.
Whenever we take a tour group through the “behind the scenes” aspect of Tabby’s Place, Suite A solarium is often one of the stops. I like to take visitors into a couple of solariums on our journey through the building so they can interact with a few of the cats. Suite B is always good for some cuddles with Carrot and his friends, the FIV suite almost always has Charlie and Wolfie for some antics and enjoyment, and Suite A is a winner with Adam, Steven and Rose. Amost every visitor immediately warms to Adam because he has such a winning little face.
He always stalks right up to the people and starts rubbing on them. Now that there are are some towers to climb in the solarium, Adam often likes to climb the tower and then get face-to-face with his visitor. This often leads to some nose rubbing and kisses for our little tabby. Adam has definitely become an visitor favorite, which makes me so happy. It hasn’t always been this way, and I am thrilled that Adam has come so far in his social graces.
This month I have not had many opportunities to interact with Adam. I don’t know if it is the new makeup of the cats in his suite, or if my timing is just off, but I haven’t been at Tabby’s Place in a while during a time when Adam has been awake. Every time I have tried to visit, I have found our little boy fast asleep. When I go into the room, Adam will usually open one eye, see that it’s me, roll over and go back to sleep. Apparently I’m not impressive enough to warrant his waking up! I have given him a few pats on the head, but I am not getting anything back in return.
Boom is always eager to get the petting for Adam, so I spend a few minutes with him. I am thinking that the addition of Cleo has something to do with this. I know the cats are on guard for her and when she is asleep, I think they all try to sleep! Adam has possibly lost his title of wackiest cat in the room!
Adam and I wish you a season of joy and happiness. He thanks you for all that you do for him and hopes that you have as generous a holiday as he does. Much love to you from Adam and me.
