Update for Tux

Dear Friend of Tux,

Happy New Year!

Tux is happy to report that he has launched (well, maybe sauntered) into 2023 in overall good health and spirits. He hopes the same is true for you.

The absences of several of his human coworkers and comfort buddies have been felt by our tender Tux. He wishes each of them a full and speedy recovery as their company is greatly missed.

Speaking of friends and company, Tux has several new feline friends.

First, they came to investigate the new desk space. Then they came to check out Tux’s cozy beds and personal kibble bowl. After Ginny showered each and every one of them with unconditional love, most chose to move right in.

Tux has led the life of a bachelor for quite some time now, so it is good to see him enjoying feline companionship.

The lady that has won over his heart (and frequently shares his cozy bed) is none other than sweet Shelley.

Shelley and Tux share a bed.

Shelley has lived in the Community Room for several years now. Like Tux, she spent her days curled up in sunny windows, often within arms reach of Ginny. Shelley had a very dear feline friend in Consetta. The two girls would frequently curl up side by side in comfortable bliss. When Consetta crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Shelley took up refuge in a small file bin under Ginny’s new desk. Jared liked this bin too, but he wasn’t so certain that there was room for two in the tiny crate.

Once Shelley discovered the cozy comforts set up on top of the desk and realized this once again put her within arms reach of Ginny’s loving pets, she was comforted. Since this was where Tux most often spent his days, the two needed to reignite their friendship. These days, it is not uncommon to find Tux and Shelley sharing his cozy bed.

But Shelley is not the only new friend that Tux has come to appreciate.

Shy Gulliver has found his way to the perch atop Tux’s cat tree. Gulliver has also found that if he stretches his body and extends his head just a few extra inches, he can reach a special kibble bowl. Who doesn’t enjoy breakfast in bed in the middle of the afternoon?

Gulliver comes for the kibble and the company!

That special kibble bowl contains the gastrointestinal diet that Tux enjoys (and that keeps his tummy happy). After Antin moved to the Lobby to make room in the Community Room for Eartha, Tux was the only feline who needed access to the special diet. So, each day, Tux gets his special kibble placed on his administrative desk. That is the service that a distinguished cat should expect!

Tux is grateful to you for helping to provide his special kibble diet and keep him in tip-top shape to perform his administrative duties.
