Shelley’s past is as foggy as her vision, but she has shown us that she is a sweet girl despite it all. Shelley arrived on our doorstep with a bad eye infection and was mostly blind. Due to her condition, she was clearly not feeling well and was pretty cranky about all the hubbub and medicating. We aren’t sure exactly where she came from or if she ever had a home, but now that she has healed, however, she has warmed up to people! She loves getting brushed and will rub her cheeks against it. Shelley is a huge fan of head and cheek scritches and appreciates being quietly spoken to. Although we don’t know exactly how much Shelley can see, we presume that she can see some light and shadows.
Shelley would make a great couch and windowsill cat for a family that just likes to hang out. This laidback girl does great with other calm cats and would be an excellent companion cat. Shelley would love a buddy to just hang out and curl up with.
Due to her limited vision, Shelley would do best in a calm, quiet home. She can be a bit startled by loud and sudden noises or movements and needs a family that will be patient with her as she learns her new space. Shelley is a capable girl despite her disability and has proven to us that she can get around just fine if she is allowed time to settle in. She has even been found way on top of the desks in our community room! Clearly, she has no issues climbing, exploring, and getting where she wants to be. We know that, with the right home, Shelley will blossom into a happy little housecat!
