Update for TNR Fund

Happy July, Team TNR!

Summer is sizzling at Tabby’s Place, which is to say boiling over with tiny TNR treasures. Yes, kitten season has come, and it’s colossal!

This month, we’ve been wrangling kittens at two places in particular. First, we scooped up the smidgens at a foreclosure property. The former owners of the home had had compassion for the (many) stray cats who visited them, but they hadn’t quite been able to keep up with spaying and neutering them. We helped to alter and relocate the adult cats, and we welcomed the wee ones to Tabby’s Place. These cuties included Taco, Tortilla, Quesadilla (pictured below), Chimichanga, Churro, and Tomatillo.

For entirely obvious reasons, Quesadilla and Chimichanga have already been adopted, and we imagine the rest of this fiesta family will follow quickly. The kittens are all healthy and presently bouncing off the walls in our Kitten Room at Tabby’s Place.

The story wasn’t quite so simple for one of the smidgens at our second site this month. A local corporate park hatched four little felines. Unlike siblings Snorkel, Scuba and Finn, tiny Tankini was not well. The mini marmalade cat (known to his good friends as Tank) seemed healthy and “normal” at first, but was suddenly unable to walk and running a fever. Our brave baby spent a week in the ER while specialists tried to figure out what had gone wrong. We feared serious neurological issues, but the doctors could find no answers. Although it’s frustrating not to know what took things south for Tank, I’m grateful to report that he is now doing well. In fact, if we didn’t know about his episode, we’d never know — he’s a normal, which is to say nutty and gleefully goofy, kitten. You can see his purdy smile above. 🙂

Dear sponsors, it’s only thanks to you that we can rescue, nurture, and provide world-class care for cats like tiny Tank. Most people easily look past stray and feral kitties, but not you — and that makes all the difference for all the cats we save together. Thank you from the depths of my heart — and Tank’s too!
