Update for Thomas

Greetings to Team Thomas!

We had hoped that our sweet boy’s medical problems were gone for good, but that hasn’t proven to be true. His previous feeding tube incision developed another abscess and needed a few stitches, and he had several incidents of vomiting. Most recently, his medications (chiefly anti-vomiting drugs) were discontinued, and the stitches have been removed, so cross your fingers for His Orangeness; maybe this time he’ll really be allowed to heal in peace!

Thomas has also been a bit of a bully lately. He’s always been rather jealous if you pay attention to other felines, but this has gotten somewhat worse over the past month. He isn’t anywhere near as bad as suitemate Nuttin is towards Dusty, but Thomas has been seen going after Jasper, Fern, and Fern, all of whom are thoroughly inoffensive cats. They simply want their share of human attention, something Thomas isn’t willing to concede to them. We’ll continue to keep an eye out for any signs of serious trouble here, as we can’t have our FIV+ crew being bullied merely because Thomas is being territorial and adjusting after his time away healing.

This month, when we give thanks, I’ll give a few extra for our Special Needs Sponsors. Economic times are tough, so those who keep giving to make sure we can care for our Special Needs Cats deserve some extra attention themselves. Thank you!
