Update for Shifty

An Open “Love Letter” to Shifty:

How your correspondent loves and misses you!  Let her count the ways:

She and all of the volunteers are not able to visit Tabby’s Place at this time.  This is for the safety and protection of not just the volunteers, but the staff as well.  We are so very grateful to staff members, because as busy as they are, they still make time to take photos of you and all the other cats at Tabby’s Place. Those photos are then forwarded to the volunteer site of Facebook.  We back here at home are just thrilled to receive them.  To receive a video? We are “over the moon” with joy. I am still able to see you, though you can’t see me.

Speaking of not seeing me, it probably seems even longer to you than it does to me.  After all, the cats at Tabby’s Place are used to us hustling and bustling about.  They see us; they hear us.  We speak amongst ourselves; we chat with the cats. It must be very lonely for you.  I hope the time comes soon when we can visit again with no restrictions.

I did overhear that you are causing a bit of a ruckus in the Employee/Volunteer Lounge that you call “home.”  Not being your friendliest with your other “roomies” is just another sign to me that you miss the human interaction you are used to receiving.  But what’s that I hear about moving in on feline Reese’s meals before she is done eating? You need to keep that waistline of yours “svelte.”  Remember our favorite word? Well, you will not be “svelte” when I see you again, if you keep munching down the meals of others….Think about it, my friend!

I am very glad to hear that your health remains “status quo.” At Tabby’s Place “status quo” is considered a good thing.  Though we are apart, the staff continues to provide the care that you need to remain the best boy you can be.  You are in excellent hands.

I know you join me in thanking your super sponsors for continuing to provide for that care.  In this economy, that support is especially important.  The expenses remain real, though donations sometimes dwindle. The ongoing support is a testament to the faith in Tabby’s Place and the miracles that happen there.

You, my special fellow, are one of them.

Missing you, and sending you much love.

Your Correspondent,
Kim
