Update for Sammy

Dear Sammy Supporters,

I’m so thrilled to be able to share good news about Sammy.

Yes, she has a heart condition, and that’s what initially labeled this sweet little girl as a Special Needs kitty. But despite that medical fact, for the past few months — and actually for the past few years — Sammy has exhibited excellent health. We still need to continue to monitor her situation with regular ultrasounds, but she isn’t on any medications.

That’s an important fact to realize. She’s a sweet and loving cat who would make a wonderful pet for the right person!

But it’s not just her good health. Lately, when I’ve been visiting Sammy, she’s been loving her time in the Community Room. She’ll often be sitting with Pixie in the window perch, but in the past few months, Sammy has made lots of kitty friends who don’t hesitate to jump up and join her. How many kitties can fit on that perch at once? I’ve seen three, but I wouldn’t be surprised if four try to squeeze together.

Imagine a sunny day, and a lovely robin or blue jay swooping in to feast at the feeder. Or a squirrel racing by on the sidewalk. Imagine four noses pressed against the window glass, gazing out to watch life pass by.

As always, Sammy and I thank you for your continued generosity. We hope you enjoy the lovely spring weather.

Your correspondent,
Kate
