Update for Sammy

Dear Sammy Supporters,

If you ask me, the holidays are all about family and friends, getting together with those you love and finding the time to take stock of your life. I believe that cats are no exception. They approach the holidays with similar goals: they want to spend time with those feline and human friends they most enjoy and who love them.
And they use those quiet moments that we call “the secret life of cats” (when we wonder what the heck they’re doing) to appreciate how wonderful their life is, especially if they’re lucky enough to live at Tabby’s Place.

During this past month, Sammy has been lucky on two fronts. Some of Sammy’s sponsors came to visit during the holidays, which is always a very special time for the kitties.

She’s also been able to continue her relationship with Tux, with whom she began to bond this fall. There’s nothing sweeter than to see her and Tux cuddled together, their tails entwined, both at peace and asleep.

She also has continued her positive relationship with Pixie. The other day when I came in to visit with Sammy, she was sitting on a comfy blanket that was draped over one of the cages propped up in front of one of the windows that has a bird feeder attached to it. Sammy was taking advantage of the scenery and enjoying the view. I walked over to pet her, which immediately got Pixie’s attention. Pixie was in her window box and she began to meow, “Pay attention to me!” When I sauntered over and began to pet Pixie, Sammy waited patiently for a bit and then let out a giant sigh. “What about me?” Friendship only goes so far. For the next ten minutes, I walked back and forth, and back and forth, petting first one and then the other, feeling very much appreciated.

Despite perhaps overindulging in too many cat treats, Sammy had wonderful health this month.

She and I both thank you as always for your continued generosity and wish you a happy and safe new year.
