Dear Sponsors,
Trick or treat y’all! Only delicious treats for my special sponsor! Do y’all enjoy Halloween as much as this black-and-white southern kitty? When I was an itty-bitty kitty, my fur friends would have a Halloween scavenger hunt in my back yard. We would find hidden crackle balls, catnip nanas, and little sacks filled with kittie treats. What a great way to celebrate the holiday!

Nowadays, I love watching staff and volunteers dress up in costumes and fill their bags with candy. My correspondent loves to eat candy corn. What is your favorite Halloween treat? Tabby’s Place has a special candy drawer for humans that is always filled.
This year Halloween is on a Saturday, and my correspondent will be here volunteering and promised to give me some extra kittie treats. My paws are crossed that next Halloween Tabby’s Place will be able to again host the annual “Chip or Treat” event. I will not stop dreaming of the day when visitors and all the volunteers return to Tabby’s Place.

This weather has been a dream because I am able to enjoy lots and lots of stroller rides. I get a kick out of seeing my other cat pals in their strollers as we pass one another. I picture myself like a race driver, all I need is a helmet! No bees in my strollers, only a nana or two! I like it when my volunteer wheels me into the back area of Tabby’s Place, near the solariums. We park the stroller and I watch the birds and butterflies. The bird feeders are refilled every week so there are always many birds visiting.

Another bonus is looking at the red-and-orange leaves on the big, big, big trees in the back. The area we park at is named Cherny’s Garden. Cherny was a very special Tabby’s Place cat who was the first cat to learn how to walk on a harness. I have not tried a harness, but y’all know me, I am always up for a challenge! I am going to take you with me on a “Curbside Volunteering” stroll. Meet many of my cat pals up close. My cameo is towards the end of the video, I am in the pretty blue stroller. I hope that you enjoy this special video and feel like you are right here with me!
Lobby life is great! Donors recently dropped off cat food, treats, beds, toys, scratching posts, and all sorts of wonderful treasures. Olive gets the most excited of all us lobby cats to see people approach the door, and she goes into her greeter cat mode. Cotton and I get excited to see visitors and help inventory the goodies. It makes my heart feel so good to know so many kind persons who think of us during the pandemic.

I must be feeling better because I took a risk that I have not done in a while. Gulp! I jumped into Anka’s enclosure! No worries, Anka was a true gentleman to this southern belle, plus the staff was right there should I need escape assistance. My correspondent was not pleased with my adventure and hopes that I stick to climbing onto the reception desk and scaling the side of the stroller!
No one is sure how I made it to the top of the reception desk—can we say it was Rose magic?! We have a cat “suggestion box,” and I asked for a rock-climbing wall in the lobby! I also picked up a new hobby in the lobby, I call it “carrier surfing.” My best discovery this month was the hiding spot for the cat treats, near the lobby couch—Let that be our secret.

And now for the GRAND Halloween treat—my health report. The experts (the staff) are happy to share that I am back to my busy and happy self! My belly feels good, no more loose stools, and my appetite is back. The volunteer feeders are taking good care of me. A happy belly is a happy Rose! One more treat: my coughing seems to have resolved itself with my new medication. I am doing the happy, healthy Rose dance this month!

I enjoy my bottom baths; they make me feel fresh and clean and ready to curl up in my fluffy cat bed at night. I think my dreams are happier with a clean bottom! Guess what? I received some cute southern belle diapies, most with ribbons to celebrate my good health.
Have a Happy Halloween filled with treats! Sending you sweet whisker kisses!
Love,
Rose
