Update for Rose

Dear wonderful Rose sponsors,

Waiting patiently until we open our doors…

Hi y’all, time goes so quickly which means our time to be together again is getting that much closer, yay!  My Grandma used to say patience is a virtue, which means we all must be virtuous!

I think if you asked all the Tabby’s Place cats if they are ready for visitors and volunteers to return, you would see a sea of paws and tails go straight in the air!  In a strange way, I think the pandemic has brought us cats closer together.  We are enjoying quality bonding time.  Along with the staff, we keep each others’ spirits high.

Enjoying the perfect big bed!

There are always lots of things to keep us occupied:  playtime, food, cat naps, and toys.  I have even been invited into new territories.  On Mondays and Fridays, I can visit the Community Room while the staff is cleaning and working in the room.  I made lots of new feline friends in the Community Room and enjoy the change of scenery and furniture.  I also expanded my skills and help the staff update the medical sheets.

I continue to find new locations for cat naps and relaxation time in the lobby.  The giant cat bed is purrfect to hang

out with my friend Twister nearby.  I am happy spending time as lobby watch cat on top of a box with Walter below.  I enjoy curling up and napping on top of Olive’s night crate.

Learning new handyman trades!

I continue to learn new trades, and recently I assisted a handyman in the lobby with repairs.  I even got over a fear of heights and climbed up the ladder, check out my svelte figure!  I am over the moon because we are blessed with generous volunteers and supporters who drop off food and toys for us.  While Tabby’s Place is currently closed to the public, people can leave donations at the front door, and I make it my mission to smile at them to say thank you.

Helping update the medical sheets

My correspondent and many of her friends have had a slight weight gain during the pandemic.  Food is a great coping mechanism, and I told her if it makes her feel better, then indulge!  On the flip side, yours truly has slimmed down—to the point that my diapies are loose!  I might consider wearing my colorful diapies as fashionable turbans!

Please do not be alarmed, the weight loss has been due to consuming less frequent treats and “bonus” wet food that I have been known to receive in the lobby from well-intentioned volunteers (please keep this our secret).

Adventures with Anka

Rest assured I receive plenty of nutritious food and treats daily.  I am over the moon to share my health report with y’all this month: I am HAPPY & HEALTHY.

This li’l black-and-white southern kitty wants you to know that I think about you often.  I am grateful every day to have you as my sponsor, and I love you very much.  You are my family!

I saved the best story for last.  Please be sure you are seated.  I have been getting more adventuresome every day that we are sheltering in place.  Confidence is a good thing to have, but my Grandma would say common sense is even more important!  Twice in the past week, I decided that Anka must be very lonely in his area.  I decided it was up to li’l ole’ me to jump in his pen and give him some southern hospitality.

Lobby Watch Cat

When my correspondent was told about this by staff the color drained from her face.  As it turned out, Anka was not receptive to my good intentions, and I was rescued by staff members.  Talk about a kitty damsel in distress!  I also learned that it is much easier to jump into Anka’s kingdom than to jump out!  In the future, I will limit my adventures to stroller rides!

Please continue to show yourself kindness and know that I am here waiting for you when the world turns right side up again.  I wish y’all a very Happy Father’s Day and send sweet whisker kisses!

Love,
Rose
