Twisted back legs

Twister is a healthy orange tabby whose name comes from his interesting physical condition: This creamsicle’s back legs turn inward at their joints and therefore, Twister cannot use his back feet. Nevertheless, he can walk and use the litter box on his own; he simply has his own way of getting around. Twister doesn’t let his physical differences get in his way. He can climb cat trees and loves to hang out on his favorite spot, the reception chair, but pulling himself up using his front legs.

In the few months since his arrival, Twister has begun to come out of his shell. Having previously lived on the streets, he was likely an easy target for other cats and unkind humans. He seeks out cozy places to sleep and hide, such as hideaway beds or litter pans with high sides. He is still nervous around people and other cats due to his history, but he is slowly showing that there is a very affectionate and sweet cat underneath his nervous exterior. Once you gain his trust, he loves to curl up in laps and will purr up a storm. Twister is also a very vocal cat and loves to chirp at people, especially if they have food or treats. This little boy is a food fiend! When our volunteers carry trays of wet food during feeding times, he is known to chase them down across the room, all the while yelling at them to give him some food!
