Update for Pixie

Update for Pixie

Greetings, Pixie lovers!

Ready for another update on our orange charmer? There is no medical news for Pix this month, something we always like to see. Her health has been stable and good.

Miss Pix continues to be the star of our Aged to Purrfection Program, but once again she’s facing competition, this time from Anka . Anka is a large, handsome boy, also a paraplegic, who came to us all the way from Ankara, Turkey (hence his name). Anka, like Pix, is terrific with people and loves attention. But we know that our little girl has been such a big hit with the seniors that any other cat would be hard-pressed indeed to displace her in their hearts — something we can understand completely.

Perhaps seeking compensation for being subjected to competition with Anka, Pix has developed a new habit. There’s a morning meeting every day at Tabby’s Place with staff and volunteers. Following this meeting, the volunteers get started on their work, and the staff has a separate meeting of their own. Miss Pix has decided that she absolutely must have attention during both meetings, particularly during the staff meeting, when she insists on occupying a staff member’s lap. Naturally, this is entirely her doing; the fact that she’s both adorable and shamelessly catered to by most of the humans around her has nothing to do with the matter!

We’d love to see Pixie adopted into a “forever” home. But until that happens, we’re happy to be able to provide her with comfortable surroundings, first-rate medical care, good food, and a lot of love. You’ve made that possible through your generosity. Thank you!
