Dear Team Pepita,
Greetings and salutations from me, Kitty LeFey! It is my pleasure to bring you Pepita’s June update. She and I go way back—at least 6 years—to when we met as part of the Comfort Buddies program. Though no longer actively involved in that program, I still make sure to visit Pepita every chance I get. Who could resist those sweet purrs and gentle hugs?
In truth, there’s no need to try to resist Pepita’s charms. She is very grateful for all you do for her, and she’s happy to show you just how much.
With your continuing care and support, our favorite pumpkin seed is thriving. Despite a recent verdant reversal of fortune (she ate some grass…and didn’t keep it down), Pepita is enjoying the best that Tabby’s Place has to offer, and she’s doing it in a more spacious suite now. There is nothing to report about her health, and that is the way we like it!

After several adoptions, there ended up being more cats in Pepita’s old suite than in the one next door. The powers that be recognized the need for a change, and the residents of Suite A and Suite B were swapped, so the larger number of cats could enjoy the bigger suite. Not to worry! Pepita adjusted to the move very quickly and very happily. Plus, she still has access to a solarium—one with a more direct view of Cherny’s Garden. All the better for bird and butterfly watching.
Of course, Pepita would prefer if the new suite did not include Brian. She isn’t a fan of how he jumps up right in front of her face when she’s curled up in her preferred spot. She gets startled (you and I would, too), which is no fun. Besides, Pepita particularly enjoys her quiet and her privacy where other cats are concerned. Another thing Pepita particularly enjoys is the summer. She just loves toasting her tiny toe beans when things heat up outside.
As the heat rises and the days lengthen, our sweet tuxedo is preparing to welcome the summer solstice, which falls (pun intended) on Thursday, June 20 at 4:50 PM in Ringoes, NJ.
Pepita is very much hoping for a beautiful summer with very few storms, so she can spend as much time as possible stretched out full length on the bench soaking up the sun. She’s also hoping that the weather will entice you to come to Tabby’s Place for the Kitten Shower & Adoption Event on June 23 from 12:00-4:00 pm. What a great excuse for stopping by Suite B for a snuggle and a personalized tour.
You couldn’t ask for a better hostess! And, Pepita would really love to see you. Without you, her future would have been uncertain. With you in her world, she doesn’t have to wait for summer to be warmed right down to the tips of her toes.
Thank you for caring so deeply and for showering our cherished Pepita with so very much love. You are one of her favorite treasures!
With more gratitude than words can express, it has truly been my honor to be your guest correspondent. Thank you for caring for Pepita so deeply and so boundlessly.
Your guest correspondent,
