Update for Patches

Update for Patches

Goodness – is it really the middle of July already?!

Greetings to you, dear sponsor! Aside from my disbelief at the weeks whizzing by so quickly, things are going well here at casa Patches.

I have no medical news this month. This is good: cats of 22 years of age rarely have medical news of a positive nature; having zero news is something to celebrate.

As someone who talks about their cats as if they were their children, I’m glad to tell anyone who will listen about Patches. My favorite thing is a two-parter: showing a photo of her while telling them her age. “She looks so good!” they gush. I beam. Patches snoozes.

I do see the difference in her when I look at pictures from a couple of years ago; the hip bones stick out a bit more now. Her coat isn’t as fluffy any more. She prefers lounging on her bed beside me to any goofy antics.

I’m okay with that.

I don’t think of her as being a hospice situation yet. I could; with the mass in her chest and her ancient-ness, it would be easy to consider this a hospice situation.

Not today.

I love Patches. And I love that there are people out there who care enough to sponsor her. Your kindness has allowed her to live her golden (platinum?) years in a comfortable, loving home.

May the summer bring you everything you desire and deserve! BBQs, pool time, going down the shore, family & friends — whatever you wish for, I wish for it for you, too!

Until next time… thank you!
