Update for Patches

Well, color me shocked – it’s OCTOBER! I don’t know where the summer went, and nobody else seems to know, either. Suddenly the evenings are chilly, the sun is setting earlier, and air conditioning is giving way to open windows and the early smells of autumn.

With the end of another month, Patches now has achieved 22 years and four months of age. She sets a new record for the oldest ever Tabby’s Place cat every month! Set that bar high, pretty girl, set it high!

Ever-present, Patches is sitting beside me as I write this. I don’t have any medical news this month; her aging continues but without significant decline. Every day is a gift.

The other day, Patches gave me a delightful surprise when she tried to inspect the open refrigerator! I couldn’t get a photo in time, but the photo to the right is immediately after. She sat and meowed at me, as if there was something I should have known. More lunchmeat, perhaps?

The photo to the left is just from the morning of this writing: she just about stole a potato chip. I interrupted her enjoyment of her stolen goods and got the face you see in the photo. Silly girl!

For anyone wondering, Fred is also doing very well! He’s a sweet boy and I love him dearly!

Happy Halloween to you! May the season be a joyful, spooky, and comfortable one. Thank you for your sponsorship of our beautiful old girl!
