A Happy Holiday Hello to you, my fantastic friend and sponsor!
Here I am, back again to share with you all the latest happenings here at “Olive’s Place.” Elizabeth corrects me with “Tabby’s Place,” but let’s just be honest … with me as the Queen of the Lobby and official greeter, it really is Olive’s Place! Alas, we shall table this argument for another day. There’s a great deal to fill you in on this past month, so hold on tight. Here we go!
Thanksgiving with the Cats was a tremendous event, with oodles and oodles of visitors! We are so grateful for all the support and love shown to Tabby’s Place from our sponsors, volunteers, and devoted community. Our hearts overflow with gratitude and thankfulness, which we enjoyed sharing in person and in spirit during this special day. I am thankful for so many things, with you, my sponsor at the top of my thankful list (and thankful for the yummy turkey too!).
Personally, I have had quite the month! If you remember, the staff has been trying out letting me go au naturel (Elizabeth says to call it what it is— diaper-free). Call it what you want, this has really raised my spirits. I just love the freedom to sail around the lobby without a diaper slowing me down!
I did have a little difficulty this month with my digestive tract. Ummm, to be completely honest with you, I became downright constipated. Now, mind you, I am a very smart girl, fluent in “cat” and able to fully understand your human language as well, but I don’t think I had ever heard the word “enema” before. Let me tell you, I hope I never hear that word combined with my name again! EVER!
Being paraplegic, I must deal with my bladder being expressed a few times a day … though not happily. My staff takes turns expressing my bladder, and everyone around here is well aware it is happening… Every. Single. Time. I can be quite vocal (yeah, extremely loud) when the situation warrants it. Elizabeth has witnessed these bladder expressions, and she says all of Ringoes, NJ can hear me.
But this constipation and enema thing was an experience on a completely different level! Now that this issue has come to an end (hee hee!), I am grateful to report I am feeling much better and back to my happy self!

The special Olive “Happy Cat Meals” have continued to be served this past month, as part of my ongoing health plan. They are quite tasty, but I miss my indulgent treats.
I think I have found something else that is going to be a regularly required item on my advanced needs regimen … this special little thing called catnip! I was certainly owed an extra little something after that horrible enema experience, so I rewarded myself with catnip and playtime, followed by a nap. I’m not going to say the latter was worth the experience of the former, but it did make me forget all about my troubles for the rest of the day!

November 26th was another very special day. Do you know what that day marks? I bet you don’t! This very important date is officially declared World Olive Tree Day! This is such a big deal—a tree named after me, and a day set aside worldwide to recognize this tree in my honor!
I think it is a fantastic idea to have an olive tree here in my lobby, but it seems I am the only one who feels this way. My brilliant idea was put to a vote, and unfortunately, it was voted down unanimously. I am not sure how that was possible when I voted FOR the Olive Tree.
Something fishy happened during the voting process, and I was given a box of leaves. I am all about compromises, but seriously, I do not think we are on the same page with this one. Do these even look like Olive Tree leaves to you? Regardless, I still had quite a fun time celebrating in them. This time next year, we will have an Olive Tree here in my honor!
Elizabeth and I, along with the awesome staff and wonderful volunteers of Tabby’s Place, would like to wish you a most blessed holiday season.
We are ever so grateful to you for your continued support and devotion to Tabby’s Place. Without you, I dare not even think of what my life would be like. You are truly such a bright light in my life, and I am thankful for you every day. May 2025 bring you much joy, peace, and prosperity.
Lots of love and happiness,
Olive
