Update for Olive

Update for Olive

Greetings, Olive aficionados!

Ready for an update on our feisty girl? Olive has come to the conclusion that she is being left out.

You see, fellow lobby residents Cotton and Rose are allowed periodic visits into our Community Room. It expands their “territory” a bit and keeps their senses engaged, and both cats behave themselves during their excursions. The same, alas, cannot be said for our black-and-white spitfire.

We’ve tried repeatedly allowing Olive into the Community Room, but the results have not been what we would wish (and that’s putting it charitably!). Olive, no doubt wondering what she’s missing, has taken to spending a lot of time right outside the Community Room door, watching the cats on the other side—and if I know Olive, waiting for an opportunity to scoot into the room.

Medically, there is not much to report this month, and thank goodness for that! Olive continues to confound the humans who seek to medicate her; she really is quite the expert in scarfing down a pill pocket while somehow leaving the medication behind. Any medication she gets is our attempt to make her life easier; if we could only convince her of that!  Also, we’ve discovered over the past month that she is a fan of the prescription canned food we give to two other lobby residents.  It’s fine for her as it helps with GI issues so it isn’t a problem that she is eating it. It’s just that she doesn’t need it (and it costs more).

Olive was gifted two new diapers this week:  Supergirl and Wonder Woman prints. You can see her sporting Wonder Woman in the photo. We call her Wonder Olive!

Whether she’s in laid-back mode (for example, super relaxed by the front door) or exhibiting a very different side of her personality, we love our little girl. Thank you so much for helping us care for Olive. It’s our hope that her many fans will be able to visit her again in the not-too-distant future; please check the Tabby’s Place website periodically for any updates.
