Spring has sprung and our dear Newman has a renewed ‘spring’ in his step. Despite having some dental work he seems to have forgotten about what has ailed him and is back to being the biggest love bug ever. When I came to see him he was just about to escape through the ramp to the solarium (pictured below). From that point on he was glued to me, by my side every minute, purring and rubbing against me constantly.
It was hard to get pictures with Newman glued to me, so I thought you might like to see a short video with some of the FIV+ kitties: click here. The video starts with Nuttin (on the left), and Newman on the right doing what he loves to do most – to take long leisurely naps! The kitties that finish the video clip are sweethearts Gus and Mona.
Newman has had a busy spring so far. Fresh off exploratory surgery, Newman went in for a dental this month. He had to have 4 of his teeth extracted, including both lower canines, and he’s been healing well since the procedure. We were concerned when Newman seemed exceedingly quiet during one of his dental followups, but he seemed okay the next time we checked on him, so it seems he was just having a quiet day that day. Newman also has had a return to his poo troubles, with a bout of diarrhea. We’re treating him with a medicine that has helped before, and we think it will do the trick again. In the meantime, Newman is busy being as sweet as possible. Even when some of his suitemates get in a tussle, he just wants to sleep and cuddle.
