Our gentle boy, Newman, met one of the quirkiest cats ever to enter Suite FIV. Darling Dwayne, with his grayish-brownish mop of wild fur and bullfrog-like meow, is a creature in a class of his own. We’ve yet to see Newman interact with chattery Dwayne much yet, but the sweet, strange new face has settled into Suite FIV very nicely. He seems to prefer the indoor suite, while we all know where Newman’s heart lies, and that is in the solarium. He can’t get enough of the beautiful weather we New Jerseyites have been having recently.
During a recent visit, Newman was sharing the solarium with Adelaide, Mona, Chachi and Charlie. Addy and Charlie were on a lap acquisition mission, while Newman’s mission was more one of getting as much attention as possible without giving up his primo spot on the soft, blanket-covered hammock. He is very, very good at sharing…but he really, really wishes it wasn’t necessary.
Newman is wise enough to yield a warm lap to Adelaide (pictured at right) at her request. But, if your lap is full of Addy, Newman will circle you excitedly, angling for any affection you can spare. Luckily, there is more than enough for everyone.
Suitemate Amos seems to have made significant progress. He is no longer hiding under the crates for security, which is a wonderful thing. He likes a cozy spot which is near the crates. But for the time being, he is content to not be under them, and that is surely a sign that he is starting to accept his new home.
