Update for Newman

Greetings to Newman’s sponsors,

Arriving mid-afternoon to Suite FIV almost guarantees a suite full of very sleepy, if not near-comatose, kitties. This particular day was one of those typical days.

Everyone was sleeping except for Adelaide…because SHE was in one of the cages screaming LET ME OUT OF HERE! Okay, she didn’t scream. She is a very prim and proper lady, who assured me that she did nothing wrong, and that she really should be on the ‘other’ side of the door, while simultaneously reaching through the bars with her paws and trying to pull me in. I told her that I didn’t have the authority to break her out of there, but she wasn’t buying it.

So off I went, to find our fabulous Volunteer Coordinator, Karina. Karina told me that Addy had been put in there so she could have her lunch in peace. (Unlike most of her roommates, Adelaide could stand to gain a few ounces — but her supersized suitemates try to muscle in on her meals.) Oops, was she still in there? That was enough to get Addy, the sheriff of Suite FIV, back on the job. And after getting her freedom, she was one happy sheriff.

Newman was one of the first to rise from his snoozing stupor to greet his visitors. And that he did, with a big smile and many head butts. He is such a good-natured guy. The fall chill is keeping some of the regular solarium dwellers, including Newman, inside instead of outside. In fact, the only brave soul out on this fifty-degree day was Charlie, who was getting some well earned rest on a heated bed. Even with his state of contentment, Charlie was delighted to get a visit. He is quite a friendly fellow.

Happy-hearted Newman is in good health and good spirits this month. The holiday season’s influx of visitors delights him, too, and he doesn’t discriminate between his own sponsors and other cats’ supporters. Numerous times, a visitor has come in to meet his or her sponsored cat, and Newman’s ended up stealing the show entirely. Our sweet boy just can’t help himself — he has so much love to give.

Newman sends you his love and his gratitude for your caring and devotion. Thank you for your generous support, and for providing a very comfortable home for Newman as he awaits his forever home.

May your holidays and the coming new year be all that you want them to be.
