This has been a month of hope for Newman: hope that warmer days are on their way. He is missing his solarium time so much, but he’s ever grateful for the option to be indoors and toasty warm.
On a recent visit to Tabby’s Place, I arrived a little later in the day than usual. Newman was alert, but very relaxed and content to stay in his happy Newman world. Meanwhile, Bo and Charlie indulged me for some playtime. Well, wouldn’t you know which handsome boy woke up, and off he went to the solarium. Yes, Newman, and yes, the solarium.
There haven’t been too many days this winter when the solarium was a welcoming place to be. And sweet, mush-pie Newman is a tough guy. He has a nice thick coat and can tolerate a reasonably cold temperature. This was just the thing to really wake him up, all 37 degrees of it. We had it all to ourselves except for a quick weather check by Wolfie.
You may also remember hearing of newcomer Knox last month. He has since packed his bags and moved into Jonathan’s office, where he joins Hobbes. Knox was quite the celebrity during our recent Open House, and he is making great strides in letting us love him.
You may recall that, several months ago, Newman was diagnosed with mycoplasmosis. This condition can cause anemia and other problems, so, as a precaution, we’ve been retesting Newman’s blood regularly ever since. This month, our boy had yet another normal recheck. This means he has just one last recheck to go before we can confidently say the crisis is over and all is well. As far as our happy-hearted boy is concerned, all is already grand. Newman remains one of the most playful and generally giddy cats in his suite.
Thank you, amazing sponsors, for your generous support that provides this kind of care for dear Newman. We are so grateful to you.
Have a wonderful month!
