Hope this monthly update finds you well and that you are enjoying the change of the seasons. In New Jersey, we are finally feeling like Fall has arrived. Normally at Tabby’s Place, at least in the FIV+ suite, the cool air doesn’t deter the cats from getting their solarium time. But on a recent visit, there was not a single pretty face to be found. Does it have something to do with the fact that the warming pads haven’t appeared yet? Perhaps.
Or more likely, Wolfie was blocking the tube to the great outdoors.
Then, before I knew it, the “road” was cleared and Newman, Buddy, Wolfie, Bo and Lester came out to play.
Newman loves the outdoors, and he loves his play time. Buddy and Wolfie (pictured below) had a great vantage point at the top of the ramp to watch Newman play.
In other news, we’re glad he doesn’t do it often, but Newman does do it…and this month, he did it again. We’re talking about inappropriate elimination — specifically, “peeing in non-litter-box locations.” Since this isn’t a frequent occurrence, our vet team tested Newman’s urine for infection to ensure that he wasn’t doing this dirty deed out of discomfort. As it happens, Newman has no signs of infection — he just felt like going outside the box. Fortunately, that’s the extent of Newman’s medical news this month. Our gentle boy continues to be happy, spending more time cozied up in his suite now that temperatures are sliding outside.
We thank you for your continued and generous support for Newman, and wish you and your family a warm and happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful month!
