Happy belated Valentine’s Day! At this special time for expressing love and gratitude, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support that you give Newman every day of every year.
Newman has had a great month. He certainly hasn’t let the cold weather get him down. Newman seems to be our sole staunch outdoorsman in Suite FIV. As his neighbors have waved the white flag and abandoned the solarium in this historically-cold winter, Newman’s remained outdoors, enjoying the cold, crisp air. He has a very thick coat of fur, and the heated warming pads and igloos take some of the chill away. Life is pretty good. In this picture below, he is quite content as he sits down on a warming pad.
One day when the temperature climbed into the 40’s, I was ecstatic to be able to visit Newman in the solarium. I have never seen him more playful. We had a ball playing with toys as Newman ran around and leaped at them. You would think he was a kitten! Buddy came out to check on what he was missing, but he didn’t stay too long. He is still fairly timid, but it is easy to see there is a huge heart within.
Buddy’s sister Juju (pictured at right) was feisty and eager to play. She even let me pet her — and she enjoyed it! She is making huge progress.
Five o’clock is the magic hour for Newman. That’s the time when the cats on special diets enter their crates for the night…and the non-prescription dry cat food hits the floor. Newman’s shown himself to be a colossal fan of this chow, and he gets downright delighted when it arrives each night.
