Update for Newman

Greetings, Newman supporters,

Our dear Newman is still soaking in the lazy days of winter and spending a lot of time sleeping (as in the photo below, in which he’s pictured with Hobbes). Still, we had some quiet time together on my recent visit, and all seemed to be rosy in Newman’s corner of the world.

As I am writing this, spring is in the air, and we have just ‘sprung ahead’ into the wonderful ‘more daylight hours after work’ time of year. Time is very precious, and outdoor time, even more so. Just ask Newman. He’ll be spending most of his waking hours in the great outdoors, er… I mean solarium, soon.

I also spent some time with our amazing Edward. He was very awake and getting around the suite extremely well. He walked from one end of the suite to the other, strutting his stuff. What a sweet boy.

There’s a new neighbor in the near future for Newman. Juju‘s brother Buddy will be joining the suite. Juju (pictured at right) is a very sweet girl who needs a little time to get used to all the humans around Tabby’s Place, and perhaps having her brother will help bring her out of her shell.

Our gentle Newman is thriving and enjoying life, with no medical news to report. This is especially delightful given that we know he’s got “SBI” – that is, “something bad inside,” as British vets say in shorthand. Bad though it may be, Newman’s liver shunt has not caused him any problems whatsoever, giving us hope that it may not be so difficult to find him a forever home.

Thank you for your generous and continued support for Newman. He is a very lucky kitty to have all of you cheering him on! May you enjoy the warmth and the light of the coming season.
